BE200—Diving Expert
I have received BE200 for about a month, but because of my preparation
of examination, my evaluation of it was delayed till today.
Before this, BE200 has some problem about phase. Hope the supplier
would be not so careless next time. BE200---the most freaky earphone I have
ever seen. How does it work?
All the people seen it think that is a little strange. 40% of them think it is
quite characteristic. Well it is 40%, not 100%, so peculiarity can’t persuade
every one.
Rich in accessories is one of its laudable advantages, which are the
richest accessories with earphone I’ve ever seen surpassing OVC. The
shortage in my eyes is its white sponge cover and clamp, because the main
color of BE200 is black, the white two accessories are inappropriate to it. On
the other hand, its extension cable is just half a meter that is not long enough.
From OVC to VSONIC, their extension cable is one meter’s long. And the
extension cable of BE200 was not designed by golden, which is no doubted
that, it will increase its impedance. This would damage some signals when
transmitting. Though it is a nuance, I still hope supplier would draw attention
on it.
The white box is exquisite and good in quality that is worth to praise.
Earphone, after all, is a listening tool, not a decorative object.
Sound quality
As usually I did, I take the CD player NE9 to test and other earphones
like E800(the third version), MX500RC, L888 for reference. Music for testing
includes “Sister Drum”, “Breaking the Glass”, “The Ferry”, “Sounds of
Thunder, Lightening, Storm and Wind”, “Paganini”, “The Power of Love”,
“The Yellow River”, “Love is Permanency”. The following is a brief
discussion.
At high frequency, E800 extend well but with some rude sounds, that is
not enough to long-listening. 500RC extended commonly as BE200 but
controlled well at rudeness and dental voice. L888 was weak and a little dull.
Generally, these items plays fine at high frequency.
At medium frequency, 500RC take the lead of others. But no one born
perfect, neither of 500RC, it sounded mellow but a little empty, like some tiny
grains beating. L888 ranged second, rich in density, but a litter over. BE200
followed, it sounded a little thin and weak, seems lacking of something.
At low frequency, E800 took all gloss of novelty, performing well at
downwardness, volume, quality. L888 was rich in volume but lacking of
downwardness, and a little spreading. BE200 was beside L888, less
downwardness and volume than L888, whereas, it has better elasticity than
L888. As to 500RC, I think it is unnecessary to say more about it at low
frequency.
On analysis, 500RC was the best one, rich in distinguish details and
natural. BE200 ranged the second. E800 ranged the third, rich in details but
big in distortion. Details of L888 is its soft rib although it was improved after
the former one.
As to sound field.500RC, compared with the old version of 500, seems
running out of steam. While, its mellow, thick and round sounds made it firmly
going forward. As to BE200, the width, depth, height are as good as 500RC,
but it was beaten by 500’s density and roundness. L888 was just can range a
place follow behind the former two items. It sounded very compressed and
flat. As for E800, it is out of question about sound field.
Maybe you feel confused of the above words. Because all evaluations in
the past, E800,L888 are better than 500. How does this turn opposite?
BE 200 switched naturally among the three frequency. Every frequency
distributed evenly and harmoniously. When listened with L888 or E800, its
low frequency influence the perform of its medium frequency, especially
E800. Moreover, E800, highlights much at high frequency, which sounds a
little hash. There is only 500RC can mention in the same breath with BE200.
However, the diagram of 500RC is 9U, it works not so good on walkman.
The three frequency bands distributed densely.
The sound field of BE200 is a good topic worth to be praised. Many of
our domestic earphones have a flat sound field, such as V30+, L888,etc. Flat
sound field should cause distortion sound, unclear separation on sound clays
and weak in stereo. The crowded three frequency damaged the sound
details. Well, although BE200 plays not enough on covering and denseness,
it conquered the difficulty of flat field, which deserves compliment.
As to the sound field of 500RC, indeed, it has a unique advantage. When you
listened for a long time with it, you may find it inherit the style of Sennheiser. It
is a concentrated earphone whose sound is far more better than the
earphones at same price.
The most resistant to long-time listening one is 500RC among the three.
The second is BE200, and 800 ranged third. How important does this factor
on evaluate a earphone? I’ve ever asked on the internet. There is no unified
answer. Recently, when I talked with some professionals, most of them put it
as the first parameter. As a tool of listening, if it make your ear painful after a
little long in your ears, I think it is not a good tool.
Generally speaking, BE200, a classic Quasimodo, who is common on
appearance, but good in connotation. BE200 plays pop music better than
500RC with walkman. But on the stream of earphone fashion, how can this
kind of appearance exist ? |
